Executive Programme in the CE Marking Process
This City and Guilds training course is designed to give you an in depth knowledge of the CE marking process. Throughout this course there will be plenty of practical examples and lots of pictorial references to real life situations in order to clarify and expand your knowledge base of this subject.
We will discuss and evaluate actual examples taken from the Directive and explain them in simple terms in order for you to be able to offer practical and realistic solutions when designing or modifying your machinery.
Our training team will guide you through the Design Risk Assessment (DRA) process using the ST&L Risk Assessment documentation, this will give you the confidence to carry out DRA from conception to finalisation of your machine or project. The course will cover risk estimation, evaluation and reduction using the Preliminary Hazard Analysis system (PHA) and following the concepts listed in EN ISO 12100.
As we follow the process through you will gain an understanding of how the latest European and International standards will help you meet the Essential Health and Safety Requirements listed in the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. We understand that when first encountering European and International standards it can be quite daunting, our training team will ensure that the session is broken down in to manageable bite sized chunks giving you plenty of opportunity to ask questions and discuss topics relevant to your machinery needs.
Next we will demonstrate how to build a Technical file and what types of documentation it should contain. For example: Electrical drawings, test reports, ESPE Calculations etc. You will have the knowledge and skill to draw up your own a Declaration of Conformity or Incorporation according to Annex II and confidently apply the CE to your machinery.
You are required to complete practical and theory tests. The practical test will be conducted on a machine of your choice using the ST&L EHSR Checklist and Risk Assessment documents. The theory test is divided in to two sections, a written test paper consisting of 20 multiple choice questions and 5 Design Risk Assessment scenarios.
